Randy Tucker is the Chief Operations Officer at Cool Planet. In this leadership role he has overall responsibility for directing the construction of the company’s first commercial plant in the U.S. He has extensive experience leading projects, installing complex systems and building project management organizations. He has served in leadership positions in operations and engineering for the energy and telecommunications industries.
Before joining Cool Planet, Randy served as Vice President of Information Technology Services for Peabody Energy, the world’s largest private-sector coal company. In this role, he was responsible for the IT Infrastructure needs of the company, including core IT Operations, IT Security and Enterprise Architecture, as well as overseeing the global expansion of IT Operations during a period of rapid expansion for the company.
Prior to Peabody, Randy served as Vice President of Service Delivery for One Communications (now Earthlink), the largest Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC) in the Northeast United States. He has also served as Director of Technology & Testing for British Telecom in London, England; Chief Information Officer for University of Missouri – Rolla (now Missouri University of Science & Technology); and a variety of senior operations and technology leadership positions for the Williams Companies in Tulsa, Oklahoma, including VP of Operations for Williams Communications.
Randy is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the Missouri Air National Guard and holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla. He also holds an M.S. in Management from the Baker University School of Professional & Graduate Studies. Randy has been a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma since 1995.
